Seize the downturn, create an upturn

As large companies cut R&D spending (during these ‘unprofitable’ times), entrepreneurs are put in the unique position of seizing the innovative opportunities left available to innovate as the big wigs hold off on everything but business as usual.

This month’s upcoming feature on the 10 most entrepreneurial cities lists New Orleans among its top choices, I believe the above statement is just one of many reasons why we live in an extraordinary time in business history.

Trade Group Warns against Biodegradable Plastic

Now I know why manufacturers making flip flops out of every trashed material under the sun (from old car tires to glass bottles) are emerging like crazy. Why would not they? Given the abundance of free raw materials at hand (our trash).
