About

I read a lot. I write a lot.
Subsequently, I think a lot about what I read & write
Now these notes are going live on the world wide web.
I like to think of it as 'plunging' the cr** out of news media, gathering facts and making occassional predictions (that are correct 97.8% of the time)

“9 billion people to feed….NOW WHAT?”

I have to say, I love this ad.  It comes from The Atlantic Monthly’s May edition and is an ad for Monsanto (producemoreconservemore.com).  It raises some interesting, yet (probably) biased facts, “Experts say we’ll need to double agricultural output by 2050 to feed a growing world...Biotechnology can help.”

hulu: an evil plot to destroy the planet…funny yesterday, not so funny if you live in Texas

We all saw where internet TV was going, we knew the cable companies would have to devise some sort of defensive mechanism in their business models to account for the migration from paid cable TV to free internet ‘streamed’ tv.  Now, cable has done just that… Time Warner Cable is started to charge its internet subscribers by the amount of internet used daily.  Those users exceeding a set limit will be charged upwards of $1 per 1gb used from the excess point on… Hulu’s motto, not so funny anymore, especially if you live in one of the cities nationwide being ‘tested’ under this pay scheme.
